B1 Licensed Engineer
B1 licensed engineers are the backbone of every maintenance operation — certifying mechanical work on airframes, engines and electrical systems. Avianeer places B1.1, B1.2, B1.3 and B1.4 engineers with Part-145 organisations across Europe, the UK and the Gulf region, on both project contracts and permanent positions.

- EWIS, FTS and human factors training up to date
- Fluent English; EU/UK work eligibility or willingness to relocate (visa support on selected Gulf projects)

Frequently asked questions
What licence do I need to work as a certifying B1 engineer in Europe?
You need an EASA Part-66 B1 licence for EU-based roles or a UK CAA Part-66 B1 licence for UK-based roles. Since Brexit the two are separate systems, but many of our candidates hold both, and some employers support obtaining the second licence.
Do I need a type rating to be placed?
For certifying positions, yes — clients hire against specific type ratings, with the A320 family, A330, B737 and B777/787 currently most in demand. Without a current rating we can still place you on non-certifying positions or projects that include type training.
Do you offer visa and relocation support?
On selected projects, particularly in the Gulf region, clients provide visa sponsorship, flights and accommodation. For EU and UK roles you generally need existing work eligibility; we'll tell you honestly what applies before any interview.
How are contract rates structured?
Most project contracts pay an hourly or daily rate depending on your licence, type ratings and authorisation level, often with travel and accommodation arrangements on top. We discuss the full package transparently in the first call — no surprises at contract stage.
